Pros

Decent factory job with some opportunity for advancement. Probably the best non-union manufacturing job available in the area. Opportunity for annual raises. Week of Christmas the plant shuts down (unpaid) but is still nice.

Cons

Hard physical labor. No pay differential when doing extremely dangerous and laborious jobs. Very hot, legal-minimum breaks, factory bathrooms are similar to public park bathrooms. Lots of hardcore conservatives.

Pros

Work life balance. You have a start and stop time.

Cons

No salaried employee flexibility. To True's credit they were fairly upfront about this during interviews but coming from a salaried job where I had lots of freedom this was a real culture shock for me. I work best in an environment where if I'm getting my job done and doing more than the minimum I can do things like leave early for a kids baseball game without taking PTO. Also to True's credit, alot of people work for True in this culture and are happy. For me it was just not a good fit. Also had to wear a suit every day, even in the factories.

True is proud to be the industry leader in commercial refrigeration, and it takes professionalism on all levels to be as successful as True is. We do expect our team members to present themselves in a professional manner, to be at work on time and to work onsite in our collaborative team environment. True offers paid time off and understands work / life balance is very important. Over the past few years, we have increased our flexibility options to allow team members to make adjustments to their schedules when needed.

Pros

Not very many. Worked weekends so off during the week.

Cons

12 hour shifts, not flexible, took all perks away, breaks/lunches are a joke. In 12 hours you only get two 10 min breaks and 30 min lunch break.

Thank you for your review. Structure is important to True as it takes everyone being at work and collaborating to accomplish great things. True does offer Paid Time Off and other flexibility options for emergency situations.
