Pros

Avoid at all costs, totally toxic

Cons

- 10 days PTO - Everyone is working 996 - No diversity at all - Company is horribly toxic. All the 5 star reviews here are fabricated. HR *highly suggests* you review it after you have accepted an offer, so most of the reviews you are reading are after the first day of employment. - The amount of money you spend on therapy and the stress that this job will add will not make up for whatever salary they throw at you. - They will throw a mediocre base salary and a high RSU at you, BUT, please be warned that the stock will not go up, and there is a good chance they will fire you before your 1 year vest--so take that out of the equation completely. - ESPP has a 60 day lock period. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. - The now *former* CEO made about $20 million in stock sales, got fired, and the company played it off like it was an "expected transition", which is hilarious - The CTO is incredibly toxic and his management style flows down to all the managers, which will flow down to you. My suggestion is -- avoid this company at all costs. So many red flags.

Pros

The recruiting process was quite involved, which was to be expected for a commercial driving position, which involves many requirements and qualifications mandated by the federal government, as well as the employer. However, the process moved at a steady pace and went quite smoothly, but this did rely upon "my" cooperation in promptly providing the information, documentation, and authorizations requested by both the company and a 3rd party agent. The period of time between submitting my resume and receiving an offer of employment was 15 days; however, there were still other items which needed to be completed leading up to my start date, so the entire process would take 4-1/2 weeks. I am very grateful to the Senior Recruiter, Alisa Dawson, who assisted me in the process, and was very diligent in her efforts to bring me on-board for this once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity, which includes amazing compensation and unheard-of benefits, which I likely could not find anywhere else in the Tucson area! Thank you, Alisa!

Cons

Initially, there was some confusion about the shift hours I would be working, and whether my position was classified as hourly or salary, but this was clarified shortly thereafter. The shift I was assigned is not what I was hoping for, but I had to consider many other positive aspects of the position, which bore more weight than the shift itself. When looking into the company, there were mixed reviews by current and former employees, and some were quite negative. This was a concern to me, but I realize that different people have different experiences and perspectives, and I am optimistic that I will have a positive experience at TuSimple!
