Pros

Salary was good considered where I lived and flexibility.

Cons

In the wave of layoffs the CEO was always saying no more layoffs would happen and happened 3 times in a short period of time. Every time he said something making employees to believe all was fine but at the same time people feeling the pressure to work to show results and keep the job. The layoffs speeches were all the same, he didn’t even bother to change it while reading. Laying off people and hiring new ones. You lose the whole access and can’t even say goodbye to the people you worked and you don’t know what you did wrong for lack of good feedback.

Worst place I've ever worked

Pros

Good pay, and direct team members were very nice.

Cons

Very disorganized, heavily male dominated. Very stressful and difficult to communicate given the different time zones of team members. Sometimes a 12 hour time difference so there's very little overlap for communication. Be prepared to have to answer slack messages at 9pm on a friday night. Management was completely incompetent, it didn't seem like they did any work at all to support their employees. I think my manager literally did no work at all, also he seemed completely inexperienced. Concerns that I had were often completely ignored. Also prepare to have ~4 hours of meetings everyday. Just miserable place to work.

Pros

- I like the autonomy of being able to manage myself and my work at Turing - Turing does a great job in trying to cultivate a thriving workplace culture - It has a true sense of vision and mission that trickles down from the CEO - There is a sense of connectivity and collaboration even though everyone is located around the world - And you have the benefits of remote work! - Lots of learning opportunities

Cons

- Turing is a startup! And like any startup many processes are yet not figured out and no SOPs for common processes - Many processes are very manual - this can mean long work hours - Training process is minimal - If you’re stuck, it can hold up your workflow as you try to figure it out - as getting in touch for help can sometimes take time as everyone is very busy also (However, everyone here is very nice and willing to help (just, as stated, very busy as well:) )
