Lots of promises, very few results

Pros

At the site level there was very little office politics to deal with.

Cons

Upper management had a tendency to be unprofessional, airing dirty laundry of the company often in public settings. Corporate communication was terrible and scattered. Day to day functions at site level were not understood by DFO's or VPs leading to unrealistic expectations from both your company and your customer. Compensation aligned with someone just entering the job market, benefits are substandard. HR offers little to no support in improving work environment for field employees. A side note- for a company with women at the helm as co-CEOs, the very least you could offer the women in your company would be some kind of women's leadership program. Or maybe more women actually in leadership positions.

Pros

Gateway position into automotive MRO

Cons

HR department is understaffed (4 HR people for a company of 1200+), leaving too much recruiting work on the local managers. Existing S.O.P.'s are a joke, lacking any real substance. Individual sites are then left to "figure it all out as you go" instead of truly mastering a strategy and properly training new teams to reproduce that successful model. Upper management is quick to throw subordinates under the bus to save face.

Pros

the team that was at my site was fantastic, but I cant say the same for the company as a whole. pay was not great either from an industry standpoint. no commission structure for inside sales people was frustrating and left little incentive to stay long term.

Cons

Upper management is largely inept and embracing changes and business initiatives that not sales driven or customer focused. modeling metrics and objectives from companies like Philips are not going to lead you to success. lots of issues in our warehouse as well that were never properly addressed by site management. perpetually understaffed and overworked employees were constantly making mistakes that required sales staff intervention and expertise which pulled us away from tasks.
