A hidden gem in Spokane

Pros

Honestly, there are a ton of pros. Two Barrels seems like one of the very few truly tech driven companies in Spokane. Its high pay along with a relaxed and inclusive culture make it a joy to work at. There are equal parts fun work and fun times with good, smart people. The management is extremely open and responsive to feedback. As a developer, I'm working in the code and on new development 90% of the time. This is not one of those companies where you sit in pointless meetings all day. Although the company is growing to the point where more structure is needed, it still feels like a relatively flat organization. Additionally, the company has recently refreshed the hardware for all the devs. There is a nice MacBook pro all configured and ready to go right when you join. Nice monitors and appropriate peripherals. Quality of life things that just make developing so much easier and enjoyable. I could go on, but i'll just end with the most enjoyable part of working here for me: The People. Just some genuinely really great people that are fun at work as well as outside of work.

Cons

There aren't many that stand out to me. No company is perfect as it's full of imperfect people, but welcome to life. The company is growing a lot so there are definitely some growth pains as you would expect. For a tech job, the 401k match could be a little better and definitely could use more holiday PTO, but it's still decent. While there is always support when requested and people are always ready to lend a hand, there is also an emphasis on figuring out problems and creating solutions without a lot of overhead and oversight. People that don't enjoy forging their own path to some extent may have issues. Personally, this is a perk to me, but it's not for everyone.

Great Place to Work!

Pros

Two Barrels is a great place work and it's full of awesome people who collectively create a very fun, laid back work environment. I've only been here for a few months now, but it's clear that employees are a priority and the flexibility, benefits, spaces, and openness to testing new ideas makes for a really good all-around work environment. Plus, we've got an awesome snack bar and eternally flowing coffee from Tom Sawyer Coffee (a local roaster).

Cons

Parking costs money downtown... (Not the fault of the employer obviously, but I guess it's a minor drawback.)

Pros

I've had quite a few jobs in my life, including a few other office jobs, and I can safely say Two Barrels is the best place I've ever worked. The people here are wonderful, the office itself is badass, and the tech writing projects challenge me in a cool and educational way. The flexibility on work times are also a great benefit. As long as you are an honest person that won't take advantage of that flexibility and the laid-back nature of Two Barrels, you will love working here. More perks: Snacks and coffee always provided Fun downtown location with endless food options Coworkers that respect each other and are more like friends Nerf guns Huge windows that surround the office for lots of natural light and entertainment Locked office that provides a safe environment Two Barrels is a place you can maintain a career and that feels like a 2nd home. You can take pride in your work, and be surrounded by people who feel the same way.

Cons

It's cold in here, man. But seriously, it's tough to find any big issues with this place. More bathrooms might be nice, though.
