Pros

You can create a flexible work schedule as a part-time employee.

Cons

If you view therapy as a science and an art, this likely isn't going to be a good fit for you. They claim to welcome all theoretical orientations, but in practice this is time limited treatment. From what I can tell, Two Chairs CA is beholden to Kaiser. Kaiser per usual wants to spend the bare minimum on mental health, therefore limiting Two Chairs. Additionally, the compensation is extremely low with no room for negotiations at hiring. Further, they make it virtually impossible to get a raise. Despite the low comp, there are high expectations regarding attending meetings, completing trainings, etc. Overall, this gave a micromanage-y vibe. I ended up giving it a try and leaving pretty quickly. There are better ways to make it as a therapist.

Pros

I’m really worried about how Two Chairs is treating their mental health staff. Just want to give a heads-up to anyone thinking about working here. Management is starting to seem shady. Things aren’t as clear as they used to be. They say one thing and then do the opposite, and now it feels like people’s jobs are on the line. If you check out other reviews, you’ll see a lot of stuff about the big changes since 2025. It’s been frustrating, but I wasn’t really worried about losing my job until the last few weeks. One big thing they changed is the KPIs (key performance indicators). They took no-shows and late cancellations out of the numbers. Before, if a client missed or canceled last minute, we weren’t punished for it. But now, that’s not the case. Therapists are struggling to meet their numbers and being told to add more clients to make up for the fact that Two Chairs never worked out no-show fees with their biggest client (Kaiser). At first, it was just an annoying change since management kept saying no-shows and cancellations wouldn’t be held against us while they figured it out. But now it’s clear they’ve been lying. Some people are already getting put on performance improvement plans because of their no-shows and cancellations. That’s totally different from what they’ve been telling us — that it wouldn’t count against us. They also said it wouldn’t mess with our raises, but now, no one’s saying anything about our jobs being in danger because of a scheduling issue we can’t control. It’s honestly kind of scary, and it feels like they’re not being upfront about how they’re treating employees. This is happening right after they did an "apology tour" because of all the bad feedback they got from workers. How many people are going to get fired for not hitting these new KPI numbers? How many are going to be forced to accept PIP plans they didn’t even know were possible? When is management going to stop saying one thing and doing another? They’re making it seem like everything’s fine, but they’re really just setting people up to fail. If no-shows and late cancellations are going to cost people their jobs, just stop pretending it’s only about raises.

Cons

Management needs to be honest.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We understand how recent changes around performance expectations have caused concern. Our intention has never been to penalize clinicians for factors outside their control, and we’re continuing to evaluate our processes to ensure they’re fair, transparent, and aligned with our mission. If you’re open to it, we encourage you to reach out to your manager or Clinical Director directly so we can better understand and address your concerns.

Pros

Some of the best people you will work with. People who want to work hard and solve a problem together. If you want to laugh / smile everyday, you can find it here.

Cons

They will fire you for performance without any warning and documentation. They will tell you that you are awful at your job and you need to leave immediately. They don't want to pay you severance so they have to come up with a performance reason to remove your role.
