Pros

Overall, I believe U.S. Bank in general was a decent place to work, given the benefits package. It offers several options, including dental and vision. It offers a 401(k), as well as decent employee discounts on things like mortgages, loans, etc. The company website was very informative and they ran some interesting contests .

Cons

Hourly wages are slightly lower than competing banks. There is a lot of pressure to "make your incentive", which isn't really much of an incentive, and the focus on customers that is supposed to be their five star guarantee is often missed because of this. Also, there seemed to be a problem with some of the lower levels getting their positions because of favoritism rather than ability, attitude, or work ethic.

Pros

Career advancement and personal growth are two of the largest reasons. Also, it is a large enough firm where you can find your particular niche. Moving vertically and horizontally is simple and sometimes neccessary. Furthermore, there are decent people in most departments. The salary is fair but not really anything to write home to mom about. If you can work your way up the ladder, you will do alright.

Cons

Sometimes management can just see you as number. The key is to make yourself a good number and really stand out. They will reward and promote good quality work. They could use a better salary structure.

Pros

Currently one of the stable financial institutions around. The people that work with you can be some of the most gratifying parts of the job. Some projects really are thought about and are looking at making the organization stronger for the future.

Cons

No respect, lack of advancement, favoritism, compensation and benefits. Management voluntarily took time and pay cuts. What wasn't told was they took pay cuts AFTER they got their raises. Not fair to the employees who make 20-30K and were forced to take unpaid time off. Some employees do the bare minimum yet are compensated and recognized, while those that more than exceed expectations are not given anything but more work.
