some very excellent rank and file staff members across the country, meaningful work that helps save taxpayers and government money.
Cons
horrendous micro-management in an extremely top heavy organization. Compared to other agencies where GS-12 and above are rare, generally respected and with significant responsibility, has numerous non-supervisory GS-14s and 15s. With a glut of over graded, undertasked individuals there is a constant culture of monday morning quarterbacking and micromanage in the most unnecessary fashion, something as simple as getting basic supplies to do one's job is extremely painful and cumbersome (not to mention GSA is the government agency that does that function).
