Pros

Good people work there. They care about the mission. They put in extra time to make the clients feel valued.

Cons

Too much politics amongst sites and the corporate head. It’s also a very male dominated space.

Shady & Underpaid

Pros

You get the pride of helping homeless military veterans, but that's about it.

Cons

The pay is terrible for the sheer amount of responsibilities you will have as a case manager. You'll have to go (unarmed) to some very sketchy neighborhoods downtown to provide services to vets. And most of them were extremely ungrateful considering that their every need and bill was paid for, for the 9 month duration of services. I was falsely accused of racism twice during my probationary period, and management did not back me up. Instead, they brought HR in and bullied me into signing the write-ups. Because all they cared about was the possible tarnishing of US VETS image. I was not looked out for as an employee but was instead thrown under a bus just they they'd have some documentation on file that something was done. It was very insulting and I ended up quitting anyway, and it was the best decision I ever made for my career that they did not care about at all. I would absolutely not recommend this job to anybody as management is poor and again the pay is absolutely terrible for the amount of work involved.
