      Pros

      Depends on who your PI is, but working in an academic environment is laid back and flexible schedule. Still have to put in your work to get something out of it. Salary is decent for the area. Lots of student support for improving skills for positions in academia. A lot of good communication between peers, mentors, and administrators.

      Cons

      Not a lot of support for positions in industry, but there are some. Management and HR is always changing or coming up with something new. Not much culture or stuff to do in the area.

      Pros

      Benefits were good. Cultural diversity is inspiring. Beautiful campus. Campus to staff involvement is fun.

      Cons

      Extremely difficult to move from an Admin position without leaving the department. Management is a hierarchy and utilizes fear and threats to "motivate" employees, especially student employees. No incentive to attend and finish degree. Money driven.

      Pros

      You work alone if you work in AI or Lothian. If you work in the HUB, it can get pretty crazy and chaotic.

      Cons

      When I worked there, I did not get paid for an hour for the cleaning and maintenance of Scotty C-store. If you work alone in AI or Lothian, its very hard to get someone to take over your shifts if your sick.
