Pros

The campus is very accessible to researchers, there are several core facilities that allow use of various cutting-edge instruments. The graduate division is pretty receptive.

Cons

Lack of Interdepartmental Initiative and Collaboration on the graduate level. Perhaps there are professor-associated talks, but its not as available for the graduate students.

Pros

The student body and some of the faculty and administrators who spend the time developing meaningful relationships with grad students.

Cons

Some departments, such as my own, have professors and administrators who are awful to deal with. There's also often no system for checking who gets what teaching assignments and that there is equity. In turn there was not equity.
