      If you are a business faculty member don't even consider this place

      Pros

      Lower cost of living than L.A. Close to L.A. and Orange County. Can live near campus

      Cons

      This is a terrible place for business faculty. Heavy teaching load, large classes, little support. Strong senior faculty and good dean left because they were harassed by the senior administration for trying to create a good business school. Really weak senior faculty are left and they abuse the junior faculty. The larger campus and senior administration use the business school to generate cash to support other parts of campus and low teaching loads for favored units like the sciences.

      Pros

      They were great to me, the people were wonderful, considerate, let me take time off as needed. I would work here again.

      There were not many cons. I enjoyed my work, the people I worked with and the physical environment.

      There is absolutely nothing- no wait, it is not far from L.A. And San Diego

      Cons

      Business TA's are really exploited. Discussion sections in business are twice the size of discussion sections in any other part of the university. Worse, graduate classes in business for which you pay an extra $ 20k per year are huge compared to all other graduate classes on campus where the students don't pay extra. The building stinks. Faculty are worthless and the good ones keep leaving. Stay far away.
