Decent pay Great benefits (health, dental, vision, 403b matching acct) Works with military members (NG, Reserve) and 14 additional days PTO for official duty. Pays for school!! Very slow paced, works around your work schedule. Only one class per semester. Most providers do 10 hr four day work week.
Cons
12 total days personal PTO (including sick days) for new employees, forces you to take Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years off so 9 total days PTO for the year. Cannot take unpaid days off, so if you plan on having any time for vacations, plan on coming to work sick so you don't burn PTO. Communication from management is very confusing sometimes, lot of switching the goal posts. You are expected to travel to other clinics in your region, could result in 1-2 hour commute, mileage paid distance from home clinic which can be beneficial or at a loss. Expect to not have a proper 30 minute lunch, you will probably eat at your desk or have spread out little bites throughout the day. Management not thrilled when you put in the time sheet you "worked through lunch" Expect to job share other providers with no MA or call outs, float pool covers maybe 1 out of 5 days your department is short. Mgmt holds lunch meetings, just renamed so they don't have to provide lunch or pay which typically is brief but can last 15 even 20 minutes leaving you no time to eat or leave to get food.
