Pros

Very good benefits and great co-workers. My immediate leadership is caring and very competent. They are doing the best they can to maintain a positive culture and high morale as changes continue.

Cons

We are losing great talent because of a very rigid return to office policy that doesn’t consider individual circumstances. People who were hired to work remotely, and who do their jobs very well in this format, are being forced to go to an office even if their immediate coworkers are in another country, and even if they live in areas with heavy winters. The radius was extended from 30+ to 50 miles to force more people in. Anyone who doesn’t go to the office the three days, without a valid reason, will be considered an automatic resignation. This dictatorial approach, plus the layoffs this week, are destroying morale. When people voice their concerns, the answer is that anyone who isn’t happy is free to look for another job. Someone posted that those who worked for Ultimate Software or Kronos should stop complaining and move on. I guess I am glad that some are so happy in their roles that they don’t care what is happening to others. For my part I will say that it hurts to see talented people being let go or leaving and it hurts to see the cultures of two amazing companies being destroyed by very corporate, old fashioned leaders. I feel fortunate to work for UKG and I am grateful for everyone that I work with. Would I encourage a friend to come work here in the current climate? No because there is too much uncertainty.

Pros

Benefits (while they last) Not worse than a generic big co job

Cons

Layoffs, restructures. Ownership and senior management is pulling the ladder up behind them. Tech stack is brittle. Impossible to "innovate" when the struggle is to keep the lights on. You have to pretend to care about UKG despite it being clear UKG does not care about you. Can be emotionally exhausting.
