Pros

Remote work available for some positions. Colleagues are some of the smartest people I’ve ever met.

Cons

The company recently announced they are cutting bonuses for lower level employees but they aren’t providing equal base pay increases, so it’s essentially a pay cut. To do this at a time when the labor market is so competitive and inflation is at a 40-year high feels like a major red flag. Especially considering UL is consistently profitable. Outside of the compensation issues, there seems to be a lack of stability in a lot of divisions as the company is going through a reorganization. There have also been quite a few recent leadership departures which is concerning.

Pros

Large company with “seemingly” many opportunities.

Cons

New CEO is terrible. Everything is all about her way, constantly mentioning giving best in class returns to shareholders - as a private company. Has ruined 130 years of history in a short amount of time and she used to be a CEO of a drywall company. Pay was just reduced for all staff that are revenue generating and they make it seem like a good thing.
