- Classes are outdated (when you do sign up)* - Quite a few complacent instructors (who will not talk to you if you are not signed up for their class)* - Parking (they make you pay to park at work-- Yes, that is right: They cut your pay to give you a parking spot ultimately to pay for the student bus service. A bus service that is underfunded and people with cars don't need the bus service. -- NOTE: Use the free parking at research park drive which is a 15 minute walk) - Little incentive for improvement. Starting in 2005, people have been at the same pay level for 11 years. They did a hiring freeze, which means that if you change positions or colleges you still get the same pay level, even if the new position is more specialized. Not much incentive there to work more. - Watch out for those people who have no incentive to do work, and just push the buck. They put needless / useless paperwork in your way which turns out to be outdated / not needed. Word of advice: Get a second opinion before filling out any form.

Leadership has created an environment of instability, fear, and performative vision. The most recent change in senior leadership appears to be about strategic realignment at the expense of institutional knowledge and long-serving professionals. There is little recognition or reward for innovation unless it comes from those newly installed or already favored. It’s deeply disheartening to see loyalty and long-term investment treated as liabilities.
