There’s excessive personal gossip from “charge nurse” at the nurses’ station, which affects professionalism. The charge nurse, though well-intentioned, has limited experience, and it shows in leadership style—there’s a noticeable lack of maturity, humility, and equitable support. Leadership should come from a place of responsibility, not ego or favoritism. Unfortunately, this dynamic likely contributes to the unit’s high turnover rate.
