Pros

Good environment, great people. Their Boise office was the best. Great mobile workforce options as well as benefits, 401k with match.

Cons

Unstable employment. Moving corp office location to MS. Too cold there in MN. Not a good career advancement program since. Multiple CTO's in past several years. No stability

Pros

Supervalu had a lot of growth opportunities for employees that were early mid level status. The hiring process was very quick and efficient.

Cons

Supervalu took a major hit during the recession and suffered multiple layoffs. Company morale was desperate, however the company has made great efforts to restore morale and overall corporate direction within the last few years.

Pros

flex work schedule was good

Cons

I was part of a full location lay off at the end of the great recession. Having received assurances that if we found work before our severance end date they would work with us on paying our severance, I started searching for work. I received an offer for a job that fit my experience well and put in my notice. Even though I had put in 20 years of blood, sweat and tears for American Stores/Albertsons/Supervalu and I had completed the turnover of my duties as specified in the severance agreement, HR and or IT made a determination that they could decline to pay my severance because I found another job. I have since learned that at least one other individual who left before his severance date was paid his severance. Also, after declining my severance they had the nerve to call me a couple of months after I left and ask for my help with a program problem. Unbelievable!!!
