Pros

Good job for someone in college after hours. Can be very tough physically at times. It is very demanding on the body, especially if you work in the freezer warehouse where it is -30*F.

Cons

Supervisors can be overbearing. It can be like a typical union shop at times, with friction between the union workers and the supervisors.

Pros

Strong management team, solid leadership, empoyee feedback solicited on a regular basis, feel like part of team, leaders are accountable, training and career development efforts are top notch, not afraid to invest in their people, salaries are very fair. Even though their stock has plummeted, so have many other companies in the Grocery industry. I think SUPERVALU will continue to be in the top 3, good or bad economy.

Cons

A large company can come with beauracy, decision making processes can be slow at times. They are perhaps a little too focused on the number of projects put through the pipeline, rather than on the quality and ROI of those projects. With Paul Singer as CIO this will most likely change for the better though.
