Pros

You get paid on a weekly basis at Supervalu. Benefits are good too. They now offer a work-at-home plan for so many days out of the week if you qualify and your manager approves.

Cons

Stuck in the past mentality. Too much management micromanaging their employees every step of the way. Too much control at the top level that prevents change from insightful and effective ideas from the lower ranks. Extreme cost cutting to the point of disruption to the everyday functionality of The Business. Everything is a long process or ridiculously escalated to the point of no-one's for sure. Heavy on the outsourcing who are so incompetent to do anything but the bare basics including the English language. Your job is never secure unless you're already in senior management. If there is a way, there's always a Supervalu outsourced way.

Pros

Free stuff and a decent employee cafeteria

Cons

Directors and above are lacking and managment skills (99% would not be in leadership positions in any other Fortune 500 company) Passive/agressive leadership Gossip and backs tabing is common at all levels Being "thrown under the bus" is a daily event No clear leadership or direction - treat employees wiht 20-30 years of experience as idiots simply because they're not at the "director level" as if once you acheive that title you gain infinite wisdom (HA) Current culture carries over from wholesale (kickpacks, vendor favoritism run rampant) Too much power given to the banners Too many people think they have the "D" (decision} but no one is in charge! Spin, spin, spin Very top heavy and not enough worker bees
