Pros

Flexible working hours are enjoyed by many, especially parents.

Cons

Not many cons in my opinion. I was disappointed to hear that my grand mother was not considered as a close relative when i asked to attend her funeral - but a solution was figured out.

Pros

- Contribute towards noble mission - Great diversity - Potential to travel on work missions - Generally nice colleagues in DHR

Cons

- Bureaucratic. - Politics/Donor government pressure means less growth opportunities for staff from programme countries. - Once you are a General Service Staff member, extremely difficult to move up to a Professional level.
