      Pros

      I work with good people. There are a lot of available resources for new technology and education. It is a good place to start your career.

      Cons

      With company being so big it is hard to feel like part of a bigger team. Everyone has their own agenda.

      As a full time staff you enjoy great benefits, like good Health Insurance, and support for further academic pursuits.

      Salaries are not impressive compared with company's income.

      Large Company, But My Team Is Great

      Pros

      UPMC is such a large company, and with so many different departments (nursing, professional, etc), it's hard to be specific here. Overall, my experience has been great. I've experienced a relaxed work environment (no clock watching), guidance from my management team that has helped me professionally, challenging work, and opportunity to advance. As long as I do my work and continue to strive to do better, I've been treated well.

      Cons

      The current political climate has made things tense.
