Pros

-Great work/life balance (work from home opportunity, flexible hours) -Good healthcare benefits and starting PTO (22.5 days)

Cons

-Very jaded office culture; most people here seem much less than enthused to be working here which is very discouraging -Lower pay than you would get doing similar work at other companies -Lack of investment in employees; did not feel that there was much opportunity to enhance my professional development

Pros

Work hours were very flexible and management didn't care what you did as long as you got your work done.

Cons

I literally couldn't get anything done. The company doesn't have "real" project managers so there is no real sense of urgency on anything. The culture teaches people to quickly pass on responsibility. No one really cares about the state of the business and it is one bad decision after another. A few people there keep the company up and running while everyone else just cruises along collecting a paycheck. Compensation was below average for the area. If you want to work somewhere where you barely do anything, get high marks on your reviews (I was shocked I got high scores on my reviews), get paid to do work only 20 hours a week, UPMC is for you.

Pros

There are numerous job opportunities within UPMC. Rob DeMichei has made tremendous improvements in communications within departments throughout UPMC.

Cons

They are not open to new ideas on improving employee morale. With the rising price of gas, it would be nice for non-essential staff to be able to work from home a few days a week.
