Pros
The pay is good. The benefits are excellent. You have the benefit of union support and protection in some jobs. While the company does seem to be running itself into the ground, it seems safe to say it will be around for a while yet.
Cons
I have never seen worse employee-management relations in my entire life. Management is very openly anti-union. The CEO is a technology guy and pushes to solve every problem by introducing a new layer of technology that ultimately causes more problems than it solves. The drivers spend 20-30% of their day doing meaningless tasks to appease the industrial engineers, then punished for not being able to get enough work done. My 20 years of hard work for this company has been rewarded by being constantly told that I am a stupid, slow, lazy, untrustworthy, whiner. I would encourage prospective employees to take a deep look into this company. Look much deeper than the pay and benefits and make an informed decision.
