Pros

The compensation is good. The benefits are good. There is something to be said for working at a company as respected as UPS. Also, it is very secure. What little promotion occurs happens from within the company.

Cons

Intense, intense, intense. Extreme pressure. Have you ever been screamed at, swore at, called names by your manager. That is an average day in operations at UPS. Absolutely no work/life balance. All of the managers are either single or divorced. Promotions are rare.

Great Benefits, Horrible Pay.

Pros

By far the best reasons are the benefits. UPS offers fantastic benefit plans to all their employees. This company is very widely known and respected. Other companies are very impressed by UPS on your resume which greatly increased your possibility of being offered a great position. Working at UPS broadens your knowledge of local businesses and locations, as well as understanding how big business runs. Also, the men are hot, but that's just quiet perk.

Cons

Terrible pay is first and foremost the worst part of UPS. There are many, many problems at UPS, but honestly, no one would be complaining so loudly if we were getting paid for the nightmare we have to deal with daily. High stress, time constraints, a complete lack of communication between upper management and all subordinates, outdated computer programs and hardware, lack of any ability to hold people accountable for their actions and disrespect for fellow supervisors and drivers alike. As PTPCS we are assigned a ridiculous amount of daily tasks and told to get them all done within 5 1/2 hours. We can not have overtime, but they want us to finish all the tasks, so any overtime must be done off the clock for no pay.
