Deceiving hiring practices for seasonal workers
Pros
Its a job to provide for your family
Cons
At first it seemed like a good job, they lure you in with telling you about all the benefits the company offers and even offer a bonus to seasonal employees. But once hired you find out that it is very difficult to get past the seasonal offer to actually take advantage of these benefits. They also did not want to pay the bonus they offered in their job advertisement. After wrestling with my managers and hr, I finally took the fight to the corporate level to get the bonus they were offering. Yet again another check without my bonus. They also try to screw you on your hours. Example, you are scheduled to start work at 4:30 but they want you to attend a safety meeting at 3:30 that lasts 5 minutes, but you do not get payed for any time you are clocked in before your scheduled start time. So that is an hour every day that you are not getting paid. Along with telling you it is a customer service position working in the warehouse, on my timecard it is listed as unskilled labor. Along with that you get tired of managers screaming at you to hurry up and load the trucks, I have never had a manager use the N word so much in my life.
