Pros

1. The HR Department was extremely helpful in both the interview and onboarding process. 2. The work was physical but still required you to think. You were shown how to do the work and then turned loose. Someone was always available if you had questions. 3. Representing the UPS brand was a pleasure. It was eye opening to see part of the process that takes that little box from the shipper to my front door.

Cons

I really enjoyed the work and would like to work for this company full time. However, to break in to the full time arena you may have to work in the package handling warehouse from 4 to 5 years on a part time basis. If you are just starting out. the benefits available and the long term payoff would be more than worth it. I was also surprised at the negative attitude of a number of the drivers who were full time. Complaining was pretty constant. Treatment of packages that had to be returned to the distribution center was often poor at best. These are individuals with a great wage for the area and a benefit package that appeared to be much better than what I had while on active duty. They need to recognize what they have!

Pros

Get paid for a workout! Continuously in and out of the truck. Offers potential for permanent employment. Get to know local businesses and discover neighborhoods. No set schedule but estimated times if you ask your driver. (Same driver, same route each day)

Cons

Only worked 3 hours per day except week of Christmas. No set schedule but must be available and on call. Advertised as part time but it is 5 days a week and only 3 hours per day. Must wait for driver to call when ready for assistance. Only uniform piece is a terrible vest that says "Seasonal Help" across the back. Should be paid more for the amount of work they expect from a vest wearing seasonal helper! Working in the elements.
