Pros

The money, the workout , no need to go to a gym.

Cons

Slave labor. UPS pays well but you work your butt off every second on the job. Management is paid to ride you like a horse. This is a job for a young man. Loader is very physically demanding and you work part time 4:00am to 8:00am m-f. Full time loader 11:00pm to 8:00am m-f. Years of part time to get full time. Driver is very hard labor 830 till 7:00 m-f no break, short lunch on the go. Your exoected to work 50 hour per week minimum. Thanks Giving through Christmas holidays great for overtime but bad for family. Good benefits, but new contract not like old contract. This is a good job for a fit young man with a family, who needs money. Now it takes four years to top rate full time about $32 hour.

Pros

Benefits are great, and there is potential to grow within the company, well the warehouse since that's where package handlers start working from, you can start at $9.50 (back in 2010) and by the 3rd month you get a dollar raise and are allowed to take a "sort-out" test for another dollar raise, so within the first year you can go from $9.50 to $ 11.50 the hour.

Cons

work conditions are pretty bad, there are time trailers you will need to load at over 90 degrees hot inside since they haven't been opened, very fast phased so it might be as a "con" for some people, have patient because you will be bossed around and told what to do, the place is very loud and fast so you might take things the wrong way when being told.

Pros

Strong company, not going anywhere anytime soon. Locations are in every city for the most part.

Cons

Upper management is completely out of touch with reality. Hey let's add a new board or directors position making millions, but cut the lower grunt positions who do all the hard work so some clown can reap the benefits. Expectations haven't adjusted to the current market place. Unable to retain talent due to awful working conditions as a package handler. Company is increasingly hiring managers externally and these people don't understand what goes on in the front line management positions.
