Pros

Never got to find out

Cons

Just before peak season which as it turns out is always "next week" they start hiring and start promising the world. Then when you are selected you have to memorize certain rules of driving and driving habits because it's all part of the process. Then it's off to a one week boot camp which is pretty intense but anyone with a bit of drive can do it. Then comes the reality of working for UPS. You are initially hired as a warehouse worker due to union rules and are expected to work there except the days that you will be driving..... So who knows what those days will be? You arrive bright and breezy first few days then they bring you down by continually berating you (and pretty much anyone else that works there so you are not alone) you are too slow etc etc. You get your three days so they can say you are qualified then the real waiting behind. Everyday. For eleven weeks till I said that was enough. You have to fight to get your hours paid. They promise that they pay for your training hours but they never paid for mime. The time I knew I had to leave was when we were told to find a truck which was empty but had keys in it. IF they needed extra deliveries done and you were one of the lucky let finders you may get some work. They are also very clever at getting you to deliver "air" packages or take packages to other drivers but NOT let you deliver any packages so as to pay you a lower rate. If you decide to try your luck best bet is to work in the package handling first then you can get your new friends to find keys for you during the night before the morning rush (that's how people got work). Horrible experience with horrible people turning normal people onto horrible people
