Pros

Benefits are phenominal. Active Duty gets 100 paid medical, vision. Dental at a low rate. Pay increases with promotions and is generous once Housing Allowance and Sustenance Allowance are added. Retirement savings Plans are some of the best. Get 100 Tuition paid for entire time on Active Duty. Get college credits for military training

Cons

Deployments-away from family for 1 year at a time Possibility of Death if go to war. Do extra work at next higher position without the pay for that position
