Leadership is everything...

Pros

A great command group can make this job very easy, especially when they allow you to focus on your work and don't try to micro-manage everything.

Cons

On the other hand, "toxic" leadership can make this position miserable. Also, as with any federal job, performance-based raises are few and far between.

Pros

All health insurance, Life insurance. Education benefits. Structured, disciplined lifestyle. Life experience. See the world. Understand goals and priorities of the United States.

Cons

Can have a cut throat atmosphere at times. Incompetent leadership can cause the working climate to implode. Military values don't necessarily match everyone's personal values.
