Pros

Good pay, great people, amazing mission

Cons

The secret police are constantly surveilling everyone's personal life to try to kick people out now for things unrelated to work performance. One colleague was doing his best when he got cancer, but he was unable to pay all his medical bills and didn't have a good plan to while he was fighting for his life, so they fired him for financial concerns. Took his health insurance and everything. Nobody is safe and your life is not your own here.

Pros

Benefits such as time off, CFP, student loans payback, professional development trainings; opportunities to move around within the agency when there's not a hiring freeze

Cons

Dysfunctional; leadership could be better; difficult to get pay increase due to their ridiculous PAF; government shutdowns; salary maybe be too low in certain cities; grade 15 employees watch you at work events and report back to your leadership; required approval for additional employment; employees must report additional income for $10k or more; 2 year probationary period for new employees; relocation assistance not authorized for new hires
