Pros

Relatively easy to get a high level security clearence compared some other intelligence community agencies. This is can be an opportunity to get your foot in the door.

Cons

The following is my expereince: In order to be a police officer, you have complete required FLETC training. When I was attending FLETC training, I was pulled from class one day "because the security office wanted to talk to me." It was an interrogation. At the time I had no idea why I was being interrogated as a criminal. The interrogation started with them asking me why I walked around with a backpack on. I explained that it was summer and I used the back pack to carry water to stay hydrated. Then they told me that "I was on camera" walking around and they asked me where I was walking around to. Funny question isn't it. If they have me walking around on camera, then they know where I was walking. The interrogation then moved to bizarre questions like why I only sleep 4-hours a night. I explained to my interragators that it was due to my disability. I also explained to them that this had no impact on my ability to perform my job duties and while I was at FLETC, I received positive feedback from my instructors. I was then some more about walking around. I explained to them I was exercising so I could maintain a fitness level to pass the required fitness test that is required for the position. I also promptly interjected and asked why the interragators were asking me about walking around. Thier response was "we are doing this to everybody." At this point I knew I was being lied to, but I could not figure out what their hidden agenda was. Later that day I was told I had to leave FLETC, at 4:30PM, and be back in the DC area a few days later. My supervisor told me I was going to be sent back to FLETC at a later date. The next day my supervisor calls me and tells me that whatever happened, "You'll be sent back. Its not the end of the world." The following Monday I meet my supervisor and police cheif and they ask me if I knew the reason why I was pulled from training. I told them I did not know and they told me they were concerned because I only sleep 4 hours. I again explained to them that this was due to my disability and did not have any negative impact on my ability to perform my job duties. A month passes by and I hear nothing about being sent back. One day I get a text from supervisor telling me to report to HQ for a "meeting." It was not a meeting, but another interrogation. My interrogation begins by rehashing everyhting that was discussed in the previous one and what happened after is when things get weird. First, I am accussed of not being able to sleep at night becasue I hear voices in my head. I told my interragtor that I never said that and I have never had issues sleeping at night because I hear voices in my head. Then the next question was terrorism. That was the question. The interagator just says "terrorism," like I am suspose to know what that means. I ask to elaborate on the question and I get no response. My last interagation was under the guise of being a psychological evaluation. The "evaluation" starts with me taking two IQ tests which were the wanderlic and GAMA tests. I never got the results so I do not know how I did. I then talked to the pyschologist and was asked if anything strage happened to me while at FLETC. I explained that someone had opened my door for my dorm room at 1AM in the morning. In the next hour, I was grilled on where I was when the door opened, how illuminated the room was, and how I knew the door had opened. Eventually, the psychologist then tries to gaslight me by saying "Is it possible that you were hallucinating because of the lack of sleep." I told the psychologist no. After some time, the psychologist tells me that "You were accused of walking around a gate at FLETC looking for vulnerabilities to commit a terrorist attack." At first I thought I had misheard the psychologist. I then asked to explain what that meant, I got no response. I demanded to know who accused of that and I also received no response. Another two months goes by before my supervisor contacts and says that I need to come in for a meeting. In the meeting my supervisor and another supervisor are seated in a office room. I am informed that I am being terminated. When I heard that, it felt like my stomach sank to my hips. When I ask why, the other supervisor states "There are six sworn statements all saying you did it." I asked what I did and I received no response. I then ask if it had anything to do with me being accussed of committing a terrorist attack on FLETC. After4 months of being investigated and after 10 hours of being interagaded, the other supervisor has the nerve to tell me "that never happened." I immediatly told him that it absolutely did happen and my supervisor then interjects to say "that's not what that means." Funny, the other supervisor tells me that it never happened, while my supervisor tells me I am misunderstanding what was said to me. So someone did say this then and the other supervisor is lying then? To end this story, I was given the option to resign in lieu of termination and that is what I did. It took me a while to fully understand this situation which is why I am writing this review after it had happnened to me. I was lied to from the very begining and when I tried to hold my supervisors accountable I almost got fired for it. If anyone is wanting to work at this position/agency, take this review and always remember what a corrupt and incompentent government looks like. It may save your job/career

Pros

The building is nice but it's not worth the trouble.

Cons

Disfunction isn't an adequate word to describe how difficult this agency is to work for. Driving talent away.
