not busy enough, lack of work, no advancement unless you seek it

Name it - it's a negative. Work conditions, environment, lack of communication, unwillingness to change anything, limited training because of costs. Not enough work to keep my busy..... I've worked in different Defense/ Homeland security positions and it's really all the same - DoD/DHS are not great places to work. Too many veterans/ retired military. They don't transition well to the civilian world and it's very hard to relate with most of them. Do not get into Government thinking you can easily move around. You cannot. You can have a great network of people - but if there's no positions or there's someone easier to hire (a disabled Veteran) - you aren't going anywhere.
