Pros

Promotion is easy, a great stepping stone for government work. Free housing and transportation provided. Most of the people in the office are pretty cool.

Cons

Pay is abysmal and TAXES TAXES TAXES. Everything is taxed including entitlements (military and contractors are not taxed). Only office to work on Sunday for premium pay but then every federal holiday was taken on Sunday vs the rest of the base that took the actual holiday off so lost more money. Was told by HR that I would get a personal car but ended up having to carpool, with 3 other people at one point, and then told could only use the car from work to home, and to use taxis (with what money)? A ridiculous amount of rules (it felt like I was back in the military). Brand new to the agency and should have gone to formal training before getting to station, not the case and was told that it could be up to a year before going.
