      Pros

      Great benefits. No overtime. Fixed hours. Great people. Office is very close to where I live. Everything that comes with working for the government.

      Cons

      Dubious upward mobility. Questionable diversity issue. Fixed hours. Everything that comes with working for the government--including scrutiny by the conservative media and sequestration.

      Pros

      Wonderful mission, federal pay is ok but not great with this agency and benefits are the real reason most people stay. You will see some things others only see in zoo's or never see in their lifetime.

      Cons

      Workplaces don't have what they need to operate. Very little promotional potential. Pay is lower than what you will receive someplace else. And a culture of retaliation, nepotism and harassment thrive here. If you speak out about concerns they will come after you.

      Pros

      Benefits, working with others who care about the future generations and providing them with an outdoor experience that resembles something from days past. Training opportunities.

      Cons

      Sometimes those in the regional offices and at national headquarters forget to think like the field-going personnel. Often field issues are hashed out at a level that is much too high to truly see the problem.
