      Good learning experience with a cool federal department

      Pros

      I was surrounded by a lot of knowledgable and passionate people. As long as I made an effort to reach out and ask questions, I was able to learn a lot. I was also able to try a variety of things as long as I made my interests known to my superiors. Great learning experience.

      Cons

      It's a large government agency, so there are some typical problems. Sometimes I felt like I could be doing more, and that my skills/experience weren't being utilized as much as they could be. but like I said, I was an intern with a large government agency so it's to be expected that I would be somewhat limited to designated duties and not much beyond that.

      Working with fish and a crew that loved what we did.

      No one in a supervisory position had a clue how to manage people.
