Pros

The job security is amazing and the benefits cannot be beaten. Pension applys when you reach 20 years. You'll be operating some of the most technologically adavanced equipment around. The job is extremely important.

Cons

You will be deployed. I feel that I don't spend enough time with my family. We will leave for six months at a time and still work long hours when we're back in port.

Pros

Great medical and dental for your dependents - not so much for you. Quick advancement! (made 1st in 4 years 8 months) Great job skills for when you get out!

Cons

Horrible working hours. 100 hr weeks, odd working hours, and looooong days sometimes (6am to 8pm) Food quality is subpar at best Enlisted personnel are the backbone and most populous group in the military, and as such are treated very poorly.
