Pros

Pay was good. Work was interesting. Some opportunity for advancement into management. Benefits package was reasonable. Training schools available to upgrade to top levels of technical field.

Cons

Very dirty environment, lot of dust. Fellow workers we always trying to undercut your status. Feelings of being watched all the time. Almost fraudulent aura of security. Dismal management skills observed at all levels. Not a good career for a recent graduate.

Cons

You will not have a set schedule You will work more hours than you may want You will work every Sunday and every holiday at straight time You will have to put up with idiotic supervisors

Pros

Mentally the work is easy. Most of the people I met in my 4 months of working there were nice. Just show up for work, actually do work, and you won't have a problem. Pay for starting out is not bad.

Cons

Highest on my list of complaints is the fact that Post Office is inept at getting payroll correct. My first paycheck did not include my first week of work. Got shorted some hours when the over time schedule changed. I came back for a bit after Christmas and again got shorted a week of work. Then they overpaid me and now I have to send money back to them. When everyone says record your hours do it! Oh and good luck figuring out the pay stub, you really have to log onto the HR web page and look at your hour by hour time clock punches. To get anything fixed you'll probably have to continually remind management because they really don't care. Besides that mandatory overtime can be a drag. How about some procedures? I honestly could have asked 6+ people the same question and got a different answer every time.
