Pros

Pay, benefits, and nothing else.

Cons

Crazy split shifts. Part time job title with full time hours. 45-60hrs a week depending on needs. No work life balance. Misrepresented job duties and expectations. Constant heavy lifting. Drama apparent on the very first day. If you have a family run from this job.....unless you don't care to see them ever again.

Pros

Great pay and paid for all hours worked. Can be an exciting and fun job. There is room for advancement after a year and depending on seniority. You get a few days of training and you do the route on your own. I got plenty of support from supervisor in beginning and employees in the beginning. No one breathing down your neck, just a lot of driving. You get satisfaction knowing you're doing something good!

Cons

When mail volume increases so does your time on the road, if you're not a "pro". You are stressed about leaving the office and about arriving back a certain time. Pressure is put on seasoned RCAs to help new RCAs and they will make you feel their wrath when they have to help you. This job can break you down and strip you of all human emotion. Let's not for get the ongoing battle between the union and management. Yes the union is there to protect you but management will give you a hard time. I have experienced verbal abuse and constant taunting so keep your union reps number close by. If you're not a fast learner and don't have a thick skin for constant negative criticism this isn't the job for you.

Pros

Good pay especially when you work the required overtime.

Cons

Whatever you do don't be late you can and will get fired for that alone especially during your probationary period.
