Pros

the only reason to work there is the benefits... period.

Cons

you name it, uncertain hours, vindictive management, policies made up from thin air, ineffective union representation.

Pros

I really loved it. I operated a small one-person Post Office. I loved my customers. The work was pretty easy. The training was a lot to comprehend, but I got the hang of it with first-hand practice. A great thing about the Post Office is that they bring their managers and supervisors up through the ranks with free training. I was also fortunate to have a really great boss. I applied for and received a promotion to the next job level of PSE (Postal Support Employee).

Cons

You have to learn a lot of acronyms. Rules, regulations, and processes can change which often require more training. They bring people up through the ranks so you can't just get a job because you have a certain degree. Some managers are difficult to work with.
