Pros

The starting pay was ok.

Cons

Bizarre orientation experience. On your feet for the entire shift. You have to sort a LOT of mailing coming at you at FAST like a freight train then move heavy trays of mail to a conveyer belt except when the giant mail sorting machines are jammed which is all the time. It is basically factory work. It’s hot, dirty and depressing. I was in my early 50’s when I started and not in shape. My body couldn’t handle the intense physical labor. Every part of my body hurt at the end of the shift. If you thrive on very fast paced, hard physically demanding work in a loud, depressing environment, this might be the job for you.
