Pros

- If you stick around there are opportunities to receive benefits - If you need a job work is consistent especially during the busy season

Cons

- When you start you are basically expected to do everyone else's work - SF P&DC is extremely unsafe, clearly violated basic OSHA laws - If you have a bad supervisor, there's a good chance they'll drive you to quit if you can't deal with their abuse

Pros

- Pay - Familiarity with local community if in a small town - No education required

Cons

- Horrendous work/life balance - Training In my personal experience, what started as a 25-32 hour per week job turned into a 50 hour per week job. However, milage varies greatly depending on what size city you work in and how many other people work in your area.

Pros

Pay is a little higher than other entry level positions.

Cons

Work schedule wildly varies even after peak season ends ( Nov-Jan). OT is assumed, you will never be asked. You will work 6 days/week 12 hours. Break #2 occurs at the end of your shift just before clocking out. You will be on your feet the entire time, lifting heavy items. Extremely physically demanding position.
