Pros

The pay is good, it's nice having a fixed schedule and knowing exactly when I am expected to be at work, and exactly what days I have off every week.

Cons

Even when you don't want overtime, you can be forced to work it, especially around the holidays.

Pros

Above average pay for the job. Good benefits. Especially true if you are a career employee hired under the old system.

Cons

Current clerk hires are Postal Support Employees. PSEs. You lack many of the privileges career employees have such as job bidding and strong union protection. I've heard that eventually they will become careers, but I never saw that occur at the plant I worked in before I left.
