Pros

Great benefits, wonderful facilities, great workout facility.

Cons

They are so short-staffed because the job is so horrible they can't keep staff. Do to being short-staffed your workload is massive. They don't want hold times so all you do is answer phones and get screamed and cursed at by members and claimants. You will not receive any time to work on your files. Then you will get in trouble because everything isn't done on your file ontime while you are on the phone working non stop. You are graded by a metric system you can't win. Constantly berated by management. The most toxic work environment I have ever worked in. People cry in their cars before coming into the building to work, it is really that bad.

Pros

Always trying to improve, good benefits, work from home

Cons

Usaa has loss sight of the overall picture. It's almost like they are still trying to hold on to the belief that customer is right mentality. Calls are non stop bit your required to work your work list that's in the hundreds but if you block yourself to attempt to call out managers or directors are reaching out telling you to keep taking calls even though the work list has not been work. It's frustrating because they are always updating trying to figure out what works and doesn't work but because of the constant changes but what good is the changes if they aren't giving time to review them.

Pros

Great amenities and home office. Somewhat OK work-life balance depending on the role you land. If you are in CFO its a dumpster fire. Do not expect a work life balance if you do not make it your intent to have one by having boundaries. Set up boundaries or you will be working late.

Cons

Overachievers overcomplicating simple tasks and micromanaging. The company offers a pension that has a APY of 3%. Thats a little more than a bank account. Go chase after 15% yields on your own. 3% is not a benefit to tout. Avoid the CFO office that has about 1200-1500 people approx. Its a cluster everywhere and for the folks that don't have a dumpster fire, they hide the fact they don't so as to not have work piled on them.
