It’s a phone sales job
Pros
I have worked at USAA for 7 years and can say I have met some of the best people there. People that became friends. Working at USAA before the pandemic hit was amazing. Going into the office, taking calls, networking in the office, coaching, collaborating , the office times were amazing and you had a purpose working there. Great benefits like swag stuff, gift cards just little things they use to do in the office like decorate and have fun meetings or holiday parties. Great facilities and “clubs” you can join and be apart of.
Cons
Since COVID it has been hard to replicate the company culture that made USAA such an attractive place to work at. There’s been so much, change, leadership change, job change, technology change that honestly USAA is now a soul crushing place for your spirit, hopes and dreams go to die. I am a senior in the sales department. The top leadership doesn’t care about us and took away our purpose. At the end of the day you are a phone representative and have to sell on calls. Leadership preaches to sell sell sell they don’t care how you do it, just do it. They don’t care about you. You are replaceable. There’s no opportunity to develop, grow or even positions to get into. Once you are on the phones you stay there you don’t go anywhere else.
