Pros

They have turned the injury department into a full blown call center. You do not have any file ownership, although files are assigned directly in your name for evaluation. You can’t get calls out to work files and inbound calls are back to back. Inexperienced newly promoted adjusters make numerous mistakes in your files due to lack of training. You are expected to work overtime just to try to stay current on “ your” files. USAA is no longer the premier place to work as an adjuster. Burn out has become the norm and executive management is just not listening to the front line teams.

Cons

Executive management is incompetent, uncaring and self serving. You are a number- not a person.

Pros

Decent benefits and PTO policies

Cons

Toxic culture with a strong passive aggressive overtone. A massive lack of accountability by leadership. Weak direction from above. No one accepts responsibility for virtually anything they are required to do. Initiatives fail constantly because of the above. Leaders come from sub-standard organizations and they bring their sub-standard managers with them. Constantly cited by bank regulators for immature processes they spend substantial amounts of cash on outside consultants to fix the same problems over and over. Managers concoct and fabricate performance issues if you don’t tow the cultural line. The high rate of attrition among management is a testimony to their culture and values. The pay is horrible and way below industry average. They entice you with a high base but when the offer comes it’s at the very bottom of the scale. Run don’t walk in the opposite direction.
