Pros

Great benefits, nice campus, flexible hours however it hurts employee in long run

Cons

No respect for employees, backstabbing, insecure environment. Zero respect for talent. They only way you get promoted internally if you are in minority (Hispanics or Black) and always say yes to management. You need to have zero personality to get promoted internally.

Pros

Great benefits, good location. great coworkers

Cons

It's acall center so depending on the manager you may be micromanaged to death. Sales philosophy is direct as many calls to the FA's as possible, so you get calls from P&C, Credit Cards to "finish up the call"; essentially they just updated their insurance and are dropped to the FA's with no set up. You are supposed to open up the call and find a way to sell them life insurance, annuities or managed portfolios. 90% of the people don't want to talk to you. Metrics change every year. I mean a 180 degree change. Essentially it's an insurance company trying to be an investment company. And failing. Any discussion with managers leads to the inevitable "trust the process" conversation. Some managers are great and leave you alone to work. Some micromanage you to the point of noting the exact minutes you were on break.

Pros

Incredible benefits, great salary, and the yearly bonuses are usually amazing.

Cons

The experience of working at USAA comes down to one thing - your manager. And even if you have a great one the constant shuffling of management can change that in a minute. The managers seem to be autonomous and they can ruin your life - and career with little oversight.
