Pros

The only pro is that you start with 18 days of PTO a year.

Cons

Everything else. No annual raises. You do not get promoted within unless you are a favorite or friend of management. Some employees work extremely hard while others in the same department hardly work. HR acts like they are there to help but when in reality, they are there to backup management. Company piles on more and more work but does not increase pay.

Pros

Maybe because they have no intention of ever giving a raise or bonus, they start you off with a decent base salary

Cons

Constantly expected to work 50+ hours For an insurance company, they offer terrible benefits Zero work life balance Upper management consistently make mistakes and throw everyone under the bus

Pros

The people are great, the culture needs work. Many are long term employees who just float along with whatever the status quo. Lots of benefits, if you are willing to pay for them. PTO is generous, but unable to take any of it.

Cons

The Service and Analytics teams are understaffed and overworked. The pay is substantially under market demand and experience levels. There is a considerable amount of turn over and USI has the reputation of being a revolving door of people. At first, it is a great experience then as time goes on you begin to realize why so many people have left. The workload is unreal. Long hours, lots of stress, short fuse demands of time and deliverables. Management is so overworked and cannot see the performance of good consistent employees. They are bogged down in metrics, low performing staff and producers who are incredibly green and demanding. The Service Staff is incredibly knowledgable but they get zero credit for the incredible amount of work they have to do on a daily basis.
