Pros

The culture is the best thing about working with US Cellular. Other companies have the posters on the walls in the training areas and back of house and then when you get into production that all goes away. Not here. We all hold each other accountable to living the values and behaviors that we know are critical to our success.

Cons

Having to convince others that US Cellular is as great as it is. People think that because you don't have 80 million cusomters that you are not a legitimate player in the wireless space. We are a player and we are here to WIN!

Pros

This company provides great benefits, ability to advance quickly within the company, relativity flexible work schedule, team sales environment, decent pay compared to other wireless carriers.

Cons

The company seems to be unsuccessful in some markets. The training program is very long but worthwhile. If you work at a slower location you will not have a lot of opportunity to earn high commissions.

Pros

The company does a great job with training associates before they assist customers on the sales floor. Because of this, U.S. Cellular associates are known to be very knowledgeable and customer-focused. The company is also known for its excellent customer service and great network quality. Even though it is a sales organization, U.S. Cellular does not just focus on meeting/exceeding sales goals (which is different than other cell phone companies). They take pride in making sure that associates do whatever is necessary to provide customers with a great customer experience. Sales managers, as a whole, do a great job with supporting associates and ensuring that they are in a position to be successful. Associates are empowered to make decisions that will be a win-win situation for the customer and for the company.

Cons

At times, store management can micro-manage associates when it comes to the sales process. Also, many people consider U.S. Cellular a step down from Verizon/AT&T/Sprint/T-Mobile even though the company offers many great benefits to customers. Because of this, it sometimes can be difficult to gain new customers especially if an associate is not in an established market.
